| Mangrove Restoration at Playa Palo Seco |
| The mangrove restoration project was initiated by the communities of Parrita and Playa Palo Seco to restore the shoreline bordering the island and within the mangrove reserve at Damas. TAE is working with www.mangrove.org to apply the Riley Technique for mangrove restoration. The activities include:
* boat tours of the mangrove reserve
* collecting propagues and transplanting into a vivero (nursery)
* planting red mangrove along island shoreline
* monitoring the progress of the plantings
